Annapurna Base Camp Trek in August is not the right season, rainy most of the day, and not clear visibility. With high-quality Monsoon equipment, trekkers start this adventure. It is peaceful and fewer tourist visits during this season, still, you can enjoy this trip with a trek guide, and better to have one.

Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp in August is generally not advisable due to the monsoon season impacting the first week of the month. However, from the second week onwards, the weather begins to improve, making it feasible for trekkers to start their journey to Annapurna Base Camp.

During this time, most lodges are not busy, as many take the opportunity to renovate their teahouses and restaurants along the route to ABC. The climate in Nepal shifts in mid-June, with August being a particularly rainy month in the Annapurna region. Despite the rain, good visibility can sometimes be found. Annapurna Base Camp’s Weather in August

During the last week of June-July and the first week of August, the weather will be completely affected by the monsoon is also called monsoon season in Nepal. Food and Accommodation:

There are more than enough lodge-teahouses along the Annapurna base camp trek, and you can easily order any kind of food, such as Nepalese, Indian, Chinese, and continental, in a local restaurant. Normally, breakfast and dinner are available in every teahouse-lodge where we spend the night. If we do not eat breakfast and dinner at an overnight place, the lodge will charge a high bill for the night stay because every lodge is also dependent on the food shell business.

During the month, not all the accommodations will be busy, and you can easily get a room along with the Annapurna Base Camp Trek in August. Some teahouses will be closed due to the monsoon and off trek season. Everywhere open trails would be crowded by tourists as the main season time is March, April, and May in Spring, then September, October, and November in the autumn season. Always trek with an experienced guide who is one of the best. The benefits are that they’ll know which of the best places are open in the low season.

Recommended Routes

While August is rainfall in Annapurna Base Camp would not be a good idea to trek to ABC until the first week of August. If you have your spirit set on trekking all the way to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), you will probably find that it rains most at lower elevations and walk to the higher parts you go less rain there will be along the ABC-foothill journey. So, if you are eager to brave a few days of trekking in the rain, you may still be able to check out ABC itself in decent conditions.

A good trek route in the Annapurna region during August could be the best way Annapurna circuit trek, still you will get wet conditions below 3,000 m and above will not be affected, but mountain views are not guaranteed and cannot be able to seen every day. The optional trip route would be the Upper Mustang Trek, a short trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill hot spring trek.

What to Bring

It is important to have good waterproofs for trekking in August, and enough changes of clothes so that you do not risk having to re-wear the previous day’s wet clothes. May trekkers find an umbrella to be more convenient and comfortable for showers, though if it looks as though the rain is setting in for a while, a comfortable raincoat and even rain pants are a good idea for the trek to Annapurna base camp.
