Best Time to Go

If you are planning a trip to Nepal for an unforgettable experience in the Annapurna region, you will enjoy breathtaking mountain views, diverse local culture, and a variety of flora and fauna—all while achieving a remarkable trekking experience within a short timeframe. To make the most of your 10-Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek, it's important to choose the best time to go.

Nepal has four distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Typically, most hikers prefer to visit during the spring season, which lasts from February to May. This is considered one of the best times of the year for trekking to Annapurna Base Camp. During spring, wildflowers are in full bloom, and the temperatures are most comfortable for trekking. Therefore, this period is often referred to as the spring trekking season in Nepal.

The autumn season, which lasts from the last week of August through November and into the second week of December, is perhaps the best time of year for trekking to Annapurna Base Camp. During this period, you can enjoy clear days, stunning mountain views, and blue skies.

Alternatively, you can embark on this adventure during the winter season, from the last week of December to the first week of February. While the weather will typically offer clear blue skies and excellent visibility, the temperatures will be cold, and there may be fresh snowfall. This season requires well-equipped trekking gear, and you can expect fewer fellow trekkers on the trail.

You can also trek to Annapurna Base Camp during the summer season (June, July, and the first week of August). These months tend to be very quiet, but you may encounter rainfall, which can make trekking a bit challenging because of the heavy monsoon. Nepal Spirit Adventure is happy to organize a suitable trekking holiday for you at any time of the year.

Day02

Flight to Pokhara, Drive to Nayapul, and Trek to Jhinu Danda

Breakfast (complimentary) at the hotel, then a short drive to Kathmandu domestic airport. A short scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. When you arrive at Pokhara, you will be greeted with beautiful views of many prominent mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri,Manaslu, Machhapuchhre (fish-tail), and the many mountain peaks of the Annapurna massif. Pokhara is a famous tourist hub of Nepal. It is well-deserving of its popularity because it is a beautiful city located right beside the sapphire Phewa Lake. The lake is also popular for reflecting the sight of the Machhapuchhre Mountain on its surface.

Approximately (1 hour and 30 minutes), we take a taxi ride to Nayapul and start trekking to  Jhinu Dada. It is an easy hike for the first day. You'll walk on an almost flat surface for 4/5 hours overnight in the guesthouse (Standard Service Inclusive: Ground transport, flight, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and lodge).

Day03

Approximately 6hrs Trek to Bamboo 6hrs

After breakfast at the lodge where we stayed, we started our trek to Bamboo. It will be an uphill ascent from Jhinu to Chomrong, and the trekking trail descends on a stone stairway for the first one and a half hours before you cross the Chhomrong Khola on a suspension bridge. High above the Modi Khola on its west, the trail passes through Bamboo, Rhododendron, and oak forests. We then climb a rocky path to reach Sinuwa at 2,350m. The trail then gently passes through the forest before descending on a long, steep stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests to finally reach Bamboo overnight in the lodge (teahouse).

Day04

Trek to Deurali 5hrs

After breakfast, we start the fourth day of our ABC 10-day trek with a gentle ascent through bamboo forests, featuring various species of rhododendron and oak trees. The trail then steeply climbs to Hinko Cave (3160 m), which is named for its large overhanging rock that offers shelter from rain and avalanches. It takes approximately 25 minutes to travel from Hinko Cave along a naturally ascending path to reach Deurali, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day05

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) 5hrs

After a short trek from Deurali, we will be at Bagar (3310m), a green meadow with some abandoned hotels. The trail follows the left side of the valley for a while. Now the trail gently ascends until Machhapuchare Base Camp (3820m), where we enjoy some of the best landscapes in our journey. You will enjoy the breath-taking view of Mount Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna South (7229m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7555m), Gangapurna (7454m), and Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997m).

After walking on the alpine meadows for some distance, our trail goes slightly up. A short hike after that leads us to our destination, Annapurna Base Camp. Explore the place as much as you can before it gets dark. You will enjoy a delicious Nepalese dinner at the base of the world's 10th-highest peaks before you get cozy in your bed. The next morning, you'll get a spectacular, glorious sunrise with stunning views of the close Annapurna snowy peaks that circle the sanctuary, facing Annapurna I the standard service includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and lodge accommodations.

Day06

Trek from ABC to Dovan (2500m) 6hrs

We wake up to the golden hues of a stunning Himalayan sunrise covering the face of Mt. Annapurna. After enjoying the view and having breakfast, we began to return through the same trail as we ascended. It is only a 6-hour hike to reach Dovan. As it is relatively easier to go down, there shouldn't be a problem reaching Sinuwa from Annapurna Base Camp on the same day. However, some trekkers may experience shaking or wobbling legs while hiking down due to fatigue. So, we have chosen a shorter route for an easier descent. (Standard Service Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Lodge)

Day07

Trek from Dovan to Jhinu Dada (1,760m) 6hrs

From here, a short steep up to Khuldi Ghar, then downhill to Sinuwa, from here the walk descends to Chomrong Khola. After the bridge, an uphill walk for less than an hour, reaching Chomrong village for a rest stop lunch break. After Chomrong, another half-hour to the top of Chomrong ridge, then our route descends to Jhinu Danda, for an overnight stay. This place offers refreshing hot springs just a 20-minute walk downhill near the Modi River.

Day08

Trek to Ghandruk Phedi, Drive to Pokhara (820m)

After a refreshing time at Jhinu downhill for an hour to Modi River with a gradual walk and short climb to reach the bottom of Gandruk Phedi, about 2 2-hour trek, then an approximately 3-hour drive to Pokhara, after a wonderful time up in the high mountains overnight in a hotel, you can relax and have a good dinner at Lakeside.

Day09

Flight back to Kathmandu

Taking a flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu is an excellent choice after your trek to Annapurna Base Camp. The flight is short and scenic, lasting about 30 minutes, allowing you to save time in Kathmandu for shopping or relaxing at a hotel overnight.
