Poon Hill Sunrise Trek starts with approximately 2 hour's drive to Nayapul by private vehicle unto Bherethati by the river Modi, from here walk begins through nice villages coming across trekkers, mule, and donkey trains, our route leads to farm areas and villages, waterfalls then reaching at Tirkehdhunga for an overnight stop in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after a good day walks of few hours.
Trek to Ghorepani
The morning starts with a steep uphill climb on stone steps for an hour or more to reach on top Ulleri village, moderate size village with houses in traditional Nepalese style of slated roofs from here walk leads with a gradual slow climb into enchanting cool rhododendron and pine-forested area to reach Ghorepani village, located on a ridge surrounded with beautiful rhododendron trees. This village is inhabited mostly by Poon people of the Magar tribe and is famous for the Poon Hill view top which is an hour's climb.
Hike to Poon Hill & trek to Tadapani
Early morning climb to the top of Poon Hill to catch the stunning sunrise over an array of Himalayan peaks from the world 7th highest Dhaulagiri-10th highest Annapurna with a range of peaks including the world's 8th-highest Manaslu with majestic Machhapuchare peak “Fish Tail”. After enjoying an exciting moment, head back to Ghorepani and continue the trek uphill and downhill through a cool forest, then reach Tadapani (far from water) for an overnight stop.
Trek From Tadapani to Ghandruk
After a lovely morning with views of Annapurna South-Hiu Chuli, and Machhapuchare peaks, easy downhill walks to Ghandruk through an enchanting forest of rhododendron-oaks-magnolia and pine trees. On reaching one of the largest Gurung villages at Ghandruk, check into a nice lodge with an afternoon free to wander around this lovely village and its museum of Gurung history and culture.
Trek to Nayapul 5hrs drive to Pokhara
After breakfast in Ghandruk, the trail continues to descend steeply until you get to Syauli Bazar through amazing hillside landscapes, forests, and terraced rice fields. Your trek will end at Nayapul, where you'll be transferred to your hotel in Pokhara. Even from this urban environment, you'll be rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalaya, including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, the peaks of Annapurna, and others.

Trek Accommodation
We provide clean accommodation in tea houses (mountain lodges) is what we offer. A tea house is a hybrid of a guest house, restaurant, and social hangout. Twin beds are provided in the rooms, but there is not much additional furniture, like small tables or chairs. Blankets are often provided (we recommend carrying a sleeping bag). Bathrooms often have either squatting (Asian) toilets or sitting toilets for Western comfort, and most tea houses or lodges have access to running water for taking a shower but require pay extra cost of approximately $ 4-5 per hot shower.
Food
During the trekking session, full board meals are included (breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as tea or coffee provided). We provide food from these local lodges/tea houses as per the choices on the menu. Breakfast and dinner are provided at the same tea house/lodge, while lunch would be on the trail. Every Tea House serves the traditional Nepali meal, Dal Bhat (rice and lentils), as well as a variety of different food items, such as rice, seasonal vegetables, noodles, potatoes, and soups. Some lodge serves Western foods such as pizza, pasta, and French fries. Soft drinks, snacks, and beer are available in most Tea house restaurants. A variety of cereals, bread, and egg dishes are generally available for breakfast.
Health and Fitness Required
Health & physical fitness are the most important part of travel and participating in trekking and hiking. If you do not have previous trekking experience as required, you can start with a morning walking exercise or cycling for weeks or months before/after booking the trip with us, if you have previous trekking and climbing experience it will add a plus point to the trek chosen, most of the trek is non-technical effort walks.
The highest height gain on this trip is at 3,210m above sea level. The walk involves lots of ups and downs, walking through local villages, farmlands, terraces, and riverside, as long as you have energy, walking for 4- 6 hours a day, and if you are qualified for the trek, but still require moderate health and fitness. We strongly advise travelers to consult their medical doctor before traveling, do a regular check-up, and hand the report to us while booking a trip with us.
Electricity and Drinking Water
Both are important for a successful trek: Electricity for the camera and mobile battery recharge are available at an extra cost. For drinking water, you can buy either packed mineral water from local lodges and en route shops or boiled water in your water bottle at an extra cost. River, tap, and spring water are free of cost, but you shouldn’t drink them because the water might not be potable. We provide you with a purification pill if required, and 3-4 liters of water you need to drink every day is good for your health and a wonderful finish to the trek.
Experienced Trek Guides and Staff with Safety
Nepal's mountainous country walk takes you to a remote region, and you must be accompanied by experienced and qualified guides and leaders for a safe journey and to make the trip a success. We at Nepal Spirit Adventure employ native trekking guides and porters who are trained and qualified for this type of trip and have worked with us for a long time. Our guide provides a lot of local information and offers you advice on how to use your free time and coordinate day-to-day events of the tour, although (sometimes) he might need you to understand that if things do not go according to our plan set. Our trek guides are fully trained and licensed by the Nepal Government, and certified by TAAN and the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
All our trekking and climbing guides are well qualified and highly experienced with 9- 10 years on this job. We provide training for our staff yearly on medical and climbing, with their efficiency, cheerful attitude, providing help, information, and the needs of the guests of various nationalities. Assuring that all our trips are well managed by the expert team of tourism professionals, all our guides have a good knowledge regarding the culture and customs of the routes on trekking and tours, share experiences and cultural insights of the country that are missed out in travel guide books.
During your time with us, you will have time to learn Nepali phrases and other cultural aspects during the journey. As we organize varied treks in the Nepal Himalaya, on group trekking we provide a trek leader with an assistance leader on each trek, depending upon the size of the group. This ensures safe travel with us as our guide/assistance guides get any health medical problem, we still have other main guides and leaders to run the trip smoothly as per our standard itinerary. To make the trip enjoyable, we provide one guide to support and carry your bags among two people with one Sherpa helper in certain conditions.
Communication and Internet
This trekking tail isn’t like 15 years ago, a lot has happened and changed en route to Poon Hill Sunrise trek the internet is available at lodges/hotels/tea houses for an additional cost. However, once we reach high altitudes, we’ll use phones for communication. Poon Hill Sunrise Trek in summer (June - August): The summer spans from June to August in Nepal but coincides with the monsoon. The temperatures can be quite high. However, the trails may be wet and slippery. Monsoon generally begins at the end of June and continues to the second week of August. The temperatures during these days range from 10°C to 23°C. The nights are cooler at around 5°C to 10°C. Normally, the mornings are clear, but clouds start building in the afternoon and disappear at night. Various plants bloom during this season, making the valleys look greener.
Annapurna Poon Hill trek in autumn (September - November): Autumn is a perfect season for this trek. Moderate temperatures, mild wind, and low precipitation during this season provide favorable trekking conditions. In autumn, the sun shines brightly, the skies are clear, and you get a superb view of the mountains. The nights are clear, as well, allowing you an undisturbed view of starry skies. The monsoons will be over by early September, and the days are mild to warm. Daytime temperatures can reach up to 20°C in high altitudes. The nights are cooler at around 5°C. The greens that grew during the monsoon fade to golden/amber, providing a spectacular contrast against the crystal blue skies. During this season, you will find the grains ripening in the terraced fields. The environment is clean, and the lowlands are lush. The biggest Nepali festivals - Dashain & Tihar - add a festive mood to the entire region.
Winter season (December - February): Winter treks to Poon Hill are less popular than spring or autumn treks. The trekking regions are cold, but they excite a different breed of trekkers looking for challenges. The temperature at Poon Hill Ghorepani can get as low temperature. The coldest time lasts from late December to early February. After late February, the weather gradually warms and cools. Daytime is pleasantly warm with sunshine. Despite being cold, the skies are usually clear, and snow-capped mountains look their best during winter. Winter is also the season when the trails are least busy.
Trek Transportation
We provide Private transportation from Pokhara and Nayapul (where the trek starts and ends). This makes it easier to drive before and after the Poon Hill Sunrise Trek. On day 05, from Ghandruk Phedi to Nayapul, if you do not wish to walk for 5–6 hours, you have the option of taking local bus transportation or jeep transportation for an additional cost. You can discuss these options with your trek guide while staying overnight at Ghandruk camp.

Upon your arrival, Nepal Spirit Adventure’s airport representative holding a pamphlet with your name will greet you at the airport and then take you to your hotel in a private vehicle. We provide this service to ensure you do not face any difficulties in a foreign country.
Free Bus Ticket to Pokhara
The Poon Hill Sunrise Trek package will start from Pokhara after your breakfast however, we like to give you another advantage free deluxe tourist bus service to Pokhara from Kathmandu who booked the trip with Nepal Spirit. If you want to take a flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu (approximately 30 minutes) you need to pay the cost of the airfare. We organize flights between both cities (Kathmandu/Pokhara). You need to provide us exact travel date for both transport options.
Tipping
Tipping is another happy moment for your trekking staff; Nepali culture accepts tipping as proof of excellent service. It should be based on the quality of service received, trek length, and trek cost, and should be of the trekker's choice. We encourage you to tip at the end of the trip and as a group. For your approximate impression, between 13 – 15% would be happy tips, which is also not compulsory.

Annapurna Poon Hill Sunrise Trek will end on day 5. On this day, you’ll trek for about 5 hours to Nayapul from here, we’ll take a private vehicle to Pokhara, the trek package ends in Pokhara, and we’ll host a farewell dinner in Kathmandu. Please don’t miss this opportunity with us!!
