Day01

Kathmandu Arrival airport pickup, Transfer to hotel

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, our representative will be waiting to welcome you just outside the arrival lounge in the designated waiting area. You will be warmly greeted and escorted to your vehicle. The drive to your hotel—typically located in the vibrant Thamel area—takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

After checking into the hotel, you’ll have the rest of the day free to relax at your own pace, as no activities are scheduled for today. If you're comfortable, we will also collect your original passport this evening to begin processing the special Upper Mustang motorbike permit, which will be arranged overnight at the hotel.

Day02

In Kathmandu

Today, you’ll have a full day to explore Kathmandu at your leisure. You may be interested in visiting some of the city’s renowned cultural heritage sites while we process your special permit for the Upper Mustang tour. In the late afternoon, you’ll meet your tour guide for a brief introduction and trip briefing. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day03

Flight to Pokhara Approx. 25 minute

Flight to Pokhara – Bike Selection

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport according to your scheduled flight to Pokhara. The flight takes approximately 30 minutes and offers scenic views of the Himalayan mountain range. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in and some rest. Later, you'll have time to look for and select a motorbike that suits your preferences.

Pokhara offers a wide variety of motorcycle rental options. Please note that the motorbike is not included in the tour package, and rental arrangements should be made independently.

Day04

Pokhara to Kalopani 124 km | 77 mile

Breakfast is included at the hotel. Afterward, we begin the first part of our journey, traveling 104 kilometers on a paved road toward the world’s deepest gorge—a drive that takes approximately three hours. The rough road begins after reaching Beni, following the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, with stunning views of massive waterfalls along the way.

We stop in Tatopani for a lunch break before continuing the drive to Kalopani. From Kalopani, enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Tukuche Peak, and the entire Annapurna Himalayan range.

Day05

Drive to Kagbeni via Muktinath 38 km | 23 mile

After breakfast, begin a bike ride along the rough road that follows the Kali Gandaki River, offering scenic views of the Himalayan ranges including Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri.

Arrive at Muktinath (3,800m), where you can visit the sacred Muktinath Temple and a nearby Buddhist monastery.

In the afternoon, ride back down to Kagbeni for an overnight stay. Kagbeni is an intriguing village with places worth exploring, perfect for an evening walk.

Day06

Kagbeni to Ghami (3,510m) 26 km | 16 mile

After breakfast, we begin our ride into the Upper Mustang region, crossing the permit checkpoint at the edge of Kagbeni village.

The route mostly follows the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, passing through traditional settlements of the local people. Along the way, we cross a village at an altitude of 3,800 meters and the Nya La Pass at 4,010 meters.

We reach Ghami by evening for an overnight stay at a guest house.

Day07

Ghami to Lo Manthang (3,700 m) 16 km | 10 mile

Today is an exciting day as we reach the ultimate destination of this tour, Lo-Manthang. Along the way, we cross several Mani walls and pass through a large village called Charang before visiting Ghargumba. The panoramic mountain views offer ever-changing perspectives from different angles.

You will also see villages covered in walls from a distance. It’s best to rest once you arrive at the lodge to help your body acclimatize.

Day08

Hiking in Lo Manthang

Today is one of the best days for walking and hiking mini-trekking around the famous Lo Manthang. Exploring this area on foot along the foothills offers a natural and immersive experience. You will visit the ancient walled city of Lo Manthang, founded in the 1380s by Ame Pal. The city contains around 150 houses.

Lo Manthang’s main attractions include tall, whitewashed brick and mud walls, gompas (monasteries), and the King’s Palace. The five-story King’s Palace, built around 1400, is the oldest structure within the walled city and is located at its center. Although the king and queen mainly hold ceremonial roles, they are respected by the villages and consulted on various matters. You will also visit several ancient gompas during the day.

Visit the famous Champa Lhakang, which houses a large Buddha statue and walls adorned with intricate Mandala paintings. Then, explore Namgyal Gompa, a beautiful hilltop monastery that holds social, religious, and legal significance. Namgyal Gompa also serves as a local courthouse. Additionally, visit the 15th-century Thubchen Gompa, known for its large red assembly hall.

You will also stop by Choprang Gompa, locally known as New Gompa, to gain insight into local culture and traditions. Furthermore, the Tsechen Shedrubling Monastic School, part of the Monastic Museum, trains young monks from the region and provides overnight accommodation in Lo Manthang.

Day09

Explore Chhoser Cave to Lo Manthang

Today promises a beautiful tour. After breakfast, start your motorbike ride to the Tibet border, about 20 kilometers away, and visit Chhoser village—one of the top highlights of this tour. Chhoser village features ancient monasteries and numerous caves. After exploring, return to Lo Manthang for an overnight stay.

Day10

Lo Manthang to Kagbeni (2,890 m) 42 km | 26 mile

Today will be a fairly long motorbike ride from Lo Manthang to Kagbeni. However, the beautiful scenery makes it a comfortable and enjoyable journey of about 6 to 7 hours. You will spend the night in a guesthouse.

Day11

Drive to Tatopani (1200 m) 70 km | 43.5 mile

After breakfast, spend the morning exploring Kagbeni village. Then, begin your motorcycle ride to Tatopani, known for its natural hot springs. Along the way, you will pass beautiful villages and apple orchards in Jomsom, Marpha, Tukuche, and Kalopani, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan ranges. Upon reaching Kalopani, enjoy a relaxing evening bathing in the natural hot spring ponds. Overnight stay will be at a guesthouse.

Day12

Tatopani to Pokhara (8,20 m) 96 km | 60 mile

Today is a lovely day for a motorcycle ride from Tatopani to Pokhara! Enjoy the stunning mountain views as you ride along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, passing through beautiful forested landscapes. You’ll arrive in Pokhara around lunchtime, giving you plenty of time to explore the city by motorcycle in the afternoon. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day13

Flight to Kathmandu (1,300 m) 30 minute

Enjoy breakfast and take a leisurely stroll around Pokhara. According to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Pokhara Airport to catch a 30-minute flight to Kathmandu, offering scenic views of the Himalayas along the way. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, an NSA crew member will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Day14

Departure

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from Nepal Spirit Adventure will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight or to join another trip.
