It is called in the Nepalese language Black Stone is a notable landmark located on the south ridge of Pumori mountain above Gorakshep, the final accommodation available on the route. Without climbing equipment, climbing Kala Patthar is very popular with trekkers in the Khumbu-Everest region and provides an amazing close view of Everest and many other Himalayan ranges. You can try to summit this hill for sunset, or morning for sunrise views, but physically it isn’t easy to hike from Gorakshep.
Everest Base Camp 5364m 17598ft: Every trekker/traveler has a dream to reach the world’s highest mountain base camp by trekking/hiking, dreaming once life gets there, this journey is also one of the highlight trips along the trek. South Base Camp in Nepal is one of the most popular trekking routes in the Himalayas, and about 40,000 people per year make the trek and climb there from Lukla Airport. While we reach the Everest Base Camp, it will be the final victory with the golden achievement of this adventure, and we can see the beautiful Khubu Glacier, rock whole ice field frozen in winter time quite difficult to find the walking trail from Gorakshep.
Cho La Pass: This trekking pass is located 5,420m (17,782ft) above sea level in the Solokhumbu district in northeastern Nepal. It connects the village of Dzongla 4,830m (15,850ft) to the east and the village of Thgnak 4,700 m (15,400ft) to the west. Many trekkers from different countries go to Nepal in the Spring as trekking is good in all regions. The meadows are in full bloom, which makes it a good time to discover the many varieties of wildflowers.

The weather is warmer at lower elevations and higher elevations over 4,000m. Visibility is excellent, and the temperature is quite moderate, cool, and clear. You can enjoy seeing the beautiful mountain views and the wonderful Sherpa homeland.
Autumn- (September-November): Autumn is also one of the best seasons for the trek to Everest Base Camp and Cho La Pass in the Everest region. The weather is clean and clear, and we can pretty much guarantee fantastic mountain views and beautiful panoramas everywhere. This season is the peak trekking season in Nepal; you can start this adventure trip in other seasons as well, and such summer and winter seasons will not be crowded with trekkers.
EVEN ON THESE TRIPS
Nepal is the only country in the world where every month, people celebrate the most beautiful festival of the year. But you can find out that very different in the Everest trek reason people do not celebrate many festivals is that they are Buddhist, and their culture is very similar background of Tibetan. Specifically, they celebrate most Buddhist festivals such as the birth of Buddha, the New Year, and Mani Rimdu, which fall in the autumn season. You can enjoy and test several Hindu festivals during both seasons in spring: Maha Shivaratri, Holi, and Ghode Jatra fall in spring, and Dhasain, Tihar, and Janaipurnima fall in the autumn season. Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 6hrs
Today’s trek starts in the morning after breakfast. The walk today is pleasant with a few short uphills and downhills with multiple crossings over Dudh Kosi River and the magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku 6,608 m. We will pass through forests of Rhododendron, Magnolia, and giant fir. In the early autumn and late spring, the flowers on the portion of the trek are a really beautiful walk that we will not forget in a hurry.
We cross more bridges and reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where our trekking permits are checked to keep a record of trekkers and local trekking staff as well. A decent and gradual walk brings us to Jorsale, the last village before Namche Bazaar.
The walk is enjoyable through the riverbank, and we reach the Hillary Suspension Bridge. Now, as we climb uphill towards Namche Bazaar, closer to and a magnificent sight of Kwangde Peak, its sister peak, Kusum Kangaru. Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, and many other wonderful mountains will be viewed closely. We stop at Chautra to admire the view. Finally, we reach the colorful village of Namche Bazaar, the main gateway of the Khumbu region, overnight in the guesthouse.
Acclimatization day at Namche, Hike-Syangboche
This is the first of the three scheduled "acclimatization" days. Health experts always recommend we stay active and move during the rest days instead of being idle.
We either spend the day taking a day hike to Khunde or relaxing and exploring Namche Bazaar itself. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery, and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday. If we trek a few hundred vertical feet during the day, it will help us to properly acclimatize.
Our guide will take you to Syangboche for the wonderful panoramic 360-degree view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawache, Khumbila, Thamserku, Amadablam, and many other mountains as well. You can also visit the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park, where we can observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascenders, and Sherpa culture, and learn about the various plant and animal life of the Everest region overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Trek to Tengboche from Namche 6hrs
Upon breakfast in Namche, we set out towards Tengboche, enjoying a superb view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and a close-up view of Thamserku. Our trek follows a more or less smooth trail with few ups and downs, which will not bother us as the magnificent view of the Himalayas keeps us company all through the journey.
Along the way, we can spot wildlife, musk deer, a herd of Himalayan Thar, and multicolored pheasants. The trail goes gradually down to Kayangjuma. The path eventually reaches Sansa, which is the major trail junction to Gokyo Valley and Everest Base Camp.
The track then follows through the pine forests, and after we cross the prayer flags festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, we reach Phunki Thenga, a small settlement with a couple of teahouses and a small army post amidst the alpine woods.
After having a relaxed lunch at Phunki Thenga, we gear up for a slightly tougher climb through the pine forests before we reach Tengboche. Tengboche is a great place for close-up views of Mt Ama Dablam, Mt Nuptse, and Mt Everest, and it has the biggest Buddhist Monastery in the Khumbu region. We pay our visit to the monastery the same day at around 3 p.m. to witness the ceremony in the principal and popular monastery of the Everest region overnight in the lodge.
Trek to Dingboche from Tengboche 6hrs approx.
The early morning fabled scenic beauty of Tengboche takes our breath away. The mountain panorama includes ranges of Kangtega, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Kwangde, Tengboche, Lhotse, and Nuptse. After snapping pictures, we start the day's journey through the trail that follows Imja Khola upstream.
Descending rapidly from the Tengboche meadow to the riverbank, the track traverses a deep forest of birch and rhododendrons with magnificent views of Ama Dablam and Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. We reach Deboche, a charming place amidst the woods.
Upon reaching this juncture, we pay our visit to the Buddhist nunnery. Upon climbing up, we come across a few Chortens. Upon reaching Pangboche, we are amazed at the dramatic views. We might visit Upper Pangboche to best view the mountains.
The trail eventually climbs to Shomare. We notice a decrease in the tree line after Pangboche, and upon reaching Shomare, the terrain changes dramatically to a rolling arid stretch and an alpine terrain with patches of scrub and isolated pastures. As we reach Orsho, the pyramidal peak of Pumori emerges above the mountains ahead. We finally reach a cold and windy settlement of Dingboche, overlooked by Chortens and prayer flags, for the night's rest in the lodge.
Acclimatization day, Hike-Nangkartshang hill
Today is the second acclimatization day, which requires about 6 hours of trekking to an altitude of 5100m. After breakfast, you ascend Nangkartshang hill (5,083 m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low.
The footpath becomes steep at times, resulting in a physically challenging day; ascending the hill could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this altitude, there are good views of Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m), and Ama Dablam (6812m). On a clear day, you could even see Mt. Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest mountain, including a great view of the Pheriche valley. After a short rest, you start the descent back to Dingboche; the walk at altitude takes about 2 hours. After lunch, you should take a well-deserved rest, as afternoon temperatures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain tops overnight in the lodge.
Trek to Lobuche from Dingboche
The trail climbs to a ridge providing towering views of Taboche Peak and Cholatse and continues through Yak pastures before crossing a wooden bridge over a roaring stream to Duglha (4,620m/15,158ft). The trail then ascends steeply for an hour, up the gravely terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. On the summit is a large group of stone-pile memorials to lost Sherpas and climbers. It also affords great border views, including Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Pumori. Everest is hidden behind the towering walls of Nuptse and Lhotse. Follow the valley upstream for about an hour to Lobuche, and overnight in the lodge.

From the top, it offers awesome views of giant mountains and Cholatse Glacier. Then descend carefully to Thanknak for an overnight stop after a hard and steady climb over the second pass of this adventure. Thanknak, at 4,830 m, is a small, isolated spot with few teahouses/lodges, which is just 2-3 hours away from Gokyo Lake.
Trek to Gokyo from Thanknak
