Acclimatization Days

On arrival at Kathmandu International, Tribhuban Airport meet Nepal Spirit Adventure's airport pick crew then a transfer to respective hotels downtown in the hub of Kathmandu (Thamel) as per your arrival time, you can visit the old market overnight in Kathmandu.

Today we drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola through Dhading Beshi and Arughat. The road deteriorates and is quite rough and bumpy from Dhading to Arughat. This afternoon we follow a trail through the woods heading upriver along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River and then across the mountains from where we have frequent views down to the river far below. Long hours bus journey, overnight stay in a teahouse of Machha Khola.

After Macha-Khola, walk to reach Khorla Beshi a small farm village from here on a winding path reaching Tatopani “Hot Spring” an opportunity for a hot bath, after a nice stop walk continues passing Dovan and Yaruphant villages, and finally walk ends at Jagat village after crossing a short suspension bridge, a moderate size village with shops and stores.

Breakfast, from Jagat, leading to a higher area following the Buri Gandaki River, coming across small farm villages of Sidibas Bazaar, with nice rest a short climb and downhill to cross a bridge reaching Nagjet, then climb to Philim village, a large spread-out farm village.

From the Philim trek onwards through terraces of golden wheat and barley, the climb reaches a rocky ridge top and into the bamboo forest area and finally ends at Dyang village for an overnight stop. From here onward air gets cooler with a touch of Tibetan culture.

Morning walks leadoff route towards Tsum valley after leaving Manaslu main trail, continue to walk towards Tsum valley, entering a narrow gorge and then descending to a ridge, as the trek carry’s on with an hour uphill into rhododendron and pine tree lines to reach a neat small village at Lokpa, after a short walk leads to cross a bridge over Lungwa Khola and then on the good trail towards Chumling village for an overnight stop.

From here on you can feel clean fresh mountain air as the altitude gains slowly around Tsum Valley, offering wonderful views of snowcapped mountains and amazing country landscape similar to Tibetan terrain, morning trek leads downhill to cross a suspension bridge and then heading on the opposite side of Smatiking Khola with views of Ganesh Himal (Yangra) at 7,422 m then walk slowly reach at Chhekhampar village for an overnight stop.

After a pleasant overnight at Chhekampar getting closer to the upper Tsum area at Nile ( Ne-lay), a morning walk with a climb on an arid and barren valley with only a few trees of juniper, pine, and rhododendron, and junipers bushes. 

The walk continues uphill with views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal range, after a good walk reaching the Nile, on route visit to 11thcentaury Saint Milarepameditation cave, Milarepa a poet, singer, and a tantric guru his folktales and songs are still remembered by Tibetans, Nomads, and farmers to this day.

From Ghap village on a pleasant trail along the bank of Budhi Gandaki River, crossing the river through scattered small farm villages with cultivated farm fields of barley, wheat, and millets then reaching Numrung village with super North Face views of Mt. Manaslu, the walk continues passing few villages of Banjham, Lhi, and Sho, then altitude gains with an hour climb to Shripvillage, from here few hours of the good walk to Lho-Gaon for an overnight stop.

Today a short day walk to Larkyaphedi/Dharmasala crossing rivers, heading towards more dry and barren country, trek to Larkyaphediis not tough except for high altitude walking with few short ups and downs and then completing the morning walk at Larkyaphedi, at the base of Larkya-La pass, afternoon free at leisure for a short hike after having lunch.

A Big Day! Start early morning to reach the top of Larkya-La Pass at 5,214 meters, morning walk leads to a steep long climb with beautiful scenery of surrounding hills and valley and of Mt. Manaslu, Larkya Peak, Bouddha Himal, Himalchuli, and Peak 29. 

After hard effort reaching the top of the pass, festooned with Buddhist prayer flags overlooking fantastic scenery. From here after enjoying a short rest and catching the views a long descent reaching back into greens around the forested area to Bimthang for an overnight stop, after a hard long day walk.

After breakfast in Bimthang, head out to a nearby ridge where you can enjoy great views of Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Himlung Himal, and Cheo Himal. Keep descending on the trail and cross a high pasture followed by a bridge over the Dudh Khola River.

From here, walk through a rhododendron forest and follow a trail through a narrow valley until you reach the highest cultivated land of the valley at Karche. Pass through lush fields before making a steep climb over a ridge. The trail comes off the ridge in a big, sweeping arc to the river bank. A short distance beyond is the village of Gho where some trekkers choose to stay the night, but you'll continue walking until you get to Tilije.

After breakfast trek with a pleasant stop in the lovely forest surrounding, morning walk is much easier downhill all the way to the Manang area at Telje village by the Marsyangdi River, after this nice village an hour's climb brings you to a large Dharapani village with many fine lodges, where altitude drops into moderate alpine climate, this village located on the famous and popular trekking route of Annapurna Circuit trail.

From here a few hours’ drive brings you to Dumre on Pokhara –Kathmandu highway and then interesting drives reach you back to Kathmandu, after a great memorable time in the high mountains with Nepal Spirit Adventure's excellent services.

Highly Take Care Upon Your Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Nepal at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, our airport representative will receive you as per your flight landing hours with your name on the display board of Nepal Spirit Adventure then transfer you to your respective hotels in Kathmandu.

Afternoon or evening time we will review and discuss much information regarding your trip itinerary and include/exclude services as per the trip itinerary chosen, at the same time introduce your guide who will help you with the final preparation for your trek as well as your may have a question and answer about the trip.

Available Teahouse in Tsum Valley Manaslu Circuit Trek 

We provide accommodation in tea houses (mountain lodges). A Tea House is a combination of a guest house, restaurant, and social hang-out. The rooms are with twin beds, most bathrooms are common with squatting (Asian) toilets or of western comfort with sitting toilets. Most Tea Houses/lodges have running water facilities. We may have hot water for showers but with extra charge in using hot showers.

Food Condition in Trek-route 

As per your booking trek to Tusm Valley Manaslu circuit trek, full board meals are included (breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided). We provide food from these local lodge/tea houses as per choices on the menu. Breakfast and dinner provided at the same tea house/lodge while lunch would be on the trail.

Every Tea House serves the traditional Nepali meal Dal Bhat (rice and lentils), as well as a variety of different food items, such as rice, seasonable vegetables, noodles, potatoes, and soups.

Some lodge serves Western foods such as pizza, pasta, and French fries. Soft drinks, snacks, and beer are available in most of the Tea Houses restaurants. A variety of cereals, bread, and egg dishes are generally available for breakfast.

Safe Drinking Water

Along the trek, safe drinking water is very important while we are on a high altitude journey, we recommend that one should drink at least 3-4 liters of water a day (this helps from de-hydration and altitude problems AMS).

As long as possible we recommend you buy sealed packed mineral water and can buy it from every local shop and lodge. Remember! River, spring, and tap water is free, we should not recommend you directly drink it even water looks very clean, can not drink it by adding water purification pills or a filter then will be suitable to drink.

You can buy also boiled water from every lodge. Boiled water and sealed packed water cost $1-2$ dollars per letter and its cost also depends on where we are from the sea level. So, you need to prepare and packed the extra cost for all the table drinks.

 Required Health and Fitness

Health and physical fitness is the most important part of travel and participating in trekking and hiking, If you do not have previous trekking experience as required, you can start with morning walking exercise or cycling for weeks or month before/after booking the trip with us, if you have previous trekking and climbing experience it will add a plus point on the trek chosen, most of the trek is non-technical effort walks.

The highest height gain on this trip is at 5,115m in Larka La Pass above sea level. The walk involves lots of ups and down, walking through local villages, farmlands, terraces, and riverside as long as you have energy walking for 4- 6 hours a day, and if you are qualified for the trek but still require moderate health and fitness. We strongly advise travelers to consult their medical doctor before traveling and do a regular check-up and hand the report to us while booking a trip with us.

High Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness often known as acute mountain sickness (A.M.S.) in general may occur when people ascend too quickly normally at altitudes of over 3,000 m. Most people will feel some effects of altitude, shortness of breath, and possibly light-headedness, which is fairly common.

Acute mountain sickness is very different and normally involves a severe headache, sickness, and loss of awareness. In almost every potential case there are enough warning signs to take appropriate action.

When symptoms of altitude sickness develop, please tell your trekking guide will advise you to deal with your problem. Generally, overexertion and dehydration contribute to altitude sickness.

Requirement water drink: at least 3-4 liters of water every day besides tea and coffee which act as diuretics.
