Poon Hill Ghorepani trekking route is one of the best short-suite and easy, making it the perfect combination for novices and family-collage holidays, permit you the maximum high altitude is Poon Hill (3210 m) is an ideal spot for trekking with a unique sunrise above sea level and offers panoramic views of the stunning Annapurna Himalayan range. You'll be passing through beautiful forests of rhododendrons at Annapurna Conservation Project, and you'll also be impressed by the insightful local ethnic communities of Magar and Gurung villages.

How We Can Start Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek

Nepal Spirit Adventure's experienced crew will lead you on this trek from Pokhara, meet at your hotel, and then drive to Nayapul by private vehicle (about 42km) for an approximately 2-hour ground journey. The new bridge-Nayapul is the starting point of the Poon Hill, Ghorepani Trek, Trekkers have the option to ride up to Hille and hike to Ulleri for a more personalized trek itinerary but we suggest it's better if we stay at Tikhedhung on the first day, which is about a 4-hour trek from Nayapul.

On the second day, we trek to Ghorepani. It is quite a long day hike but you’ll enjoy the trek through quaint villages and the unique ethnic local cultures of Magar and Gurung communities; up many stairs, through thick jungles, and over rivers; before ultimately ending up at altitude (3,210 m) the local village. While you start the trek from Trikhedhunga we ascend 3,300 steps until Ulleri Magar village which rewards us with great views of the Himalayas hiding in the shade of the trees.

From the Ulleri you can see the first mountain views of Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli with the attractive magnificent thick forest of Annapurna Conservation area. We could stop for a lunch break there or trek toward Banthanti. After the wonderful lunch break, continue trekking to Ghorepani 2,850m through dense rhododendron forest and capture the perfect picture of landscapes, if you get the holiday in March to May which is the spring season this trek route will be colorful blooming spring flowers, especially rhododendron in verities colors. Feeling a long day trek of approximately between 6-7 hours then arriving at Ghorepani village, we highly recommend staying overnight at Ghorepani Deurali for the best Annapurna Himalayan ranges and natural open forest views also a short walk for a hike to Poon Hill for the next morning.

When is The Best Season for Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek?

Naturally, the best season for the Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek is between the last week of August to December and then the last week of February to June. You can do this hike in January but be mindful that winter conditions will make for an icy adventure ( temperatures can drop below-15c ) due to the global warming month of January and February can be the best time for this hike. June and July months are the start of the monsoon and signal an increase in potentially wet days. To see the famous rhododendrons in full bloom, you'll need to do the hike in April, and we feel this is the best time to trek Poon Hill Hgorepani, as the views are stunning, and the weather comfortable

The Autumn season from October to December is best for this adventure the weather will be perfect, with cool mornings and evenings warm temperatures during the trekking time, and a clear sky, then we can see the best mountain views along the journey, especially from Pooh Hill (3210m), Tadapani and Ghorepani, you can see also very closer mountain vista from both village if weather permits for us in good weather condition. This trek is comfortable for all categories of travel without worries about physical and mental challenges compared to other trekking regions of Nepal.
