Expertise guide

Our team includes an experienced motorbike rider guide who possesses extensive knowledge of the route and provides valuable insights about the country, its locations, mountains, and cultural landmarks. The Annapurna Motorbike Tour is all-inclusive, covering international airport pickups, accommodations in Kathmandu and Pokhara, as well as lodgings along the tour and required permits. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, we offer a variety of motorbike rental options at competitive daily rates throughout the Annapurna Gorge Motorbike Tour.

A motorcycle that is both accessible and appropriate for touring purposes

For motorcycle excursions in the Annapurna Gorge, a dirt bike presents a more appropriate and comfortable choice. In Nepal, particularly in Kathmandu and Pokhara, dirt bikes are relatively rare due to the high cost of their parts. We recommend considering either the Royal Enfield Classic or the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The Royal Enfield Classic is particularly well-suited for individuals with larger builds, whereas the Himalayan caters more to those with lighter frames. Additionally, other motorcycle brands can be found in Kathmandu and Pokhara. If feasible, you may also opt to transport your motorcycle from your home country, although this may incur significant expenses.

The best time to visit

The optimal period for undertaking the Annapurna Gorge Motorbike Tour is from March to June and from late September to December. During these seasons, the weather is exceptional, allowing for stunning views of the snow-capped peaks, including Dhaulagiri and Mt. Annapurna I, which rises above 8,000 meters, along with numerous other mountains exceeding 6,000 and 7,000 meters in elevation. The flora during that season would be exquisite, and the natural waterfalls, rivers, and indigenous cultural communities consistently extend a warm welcome to both local and international trekkers and travelers, providing accommodations in their hometowns for those who visit.

    Best season:

Nepal presents two optimal seasons for the Annapurna Gorge Motorbike Tour. It is advisable to schedule this type of excursion during the most suitable times of the year. While motorbike tours in Nepal can be undertaken throughout the year, the choice of riding area will influence the experience. Riders can explore various regions during all four seasons—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter—yet the peak tourist seasons are typically Spring and Autumn. Nepal Spirit Adventure encourages you to take into account the unique features of each season when planning your journey.
    Autumn (September- October- November)
Autumn, encompassing the months of September, October, and November, is regarded as one of the most favorable seasons for motorbiking excursions in the Himalayan region. This period is characterized by pleasant weather and breathtaking mountain vistas, ensuring clear skies that allow for remarkable panoramic views. It is during this season that tourism in the Nepal Himalaya reaches its peak, coinciding with numerous Hindu festivals. Among these is the 15-day Dashain, the most significant celebration for the Nepalese, which commemorates the victory of good over evil. This is followed closely by the 5-day Tihar, also known as Dipawali or the Festival of Lights.

    Spring (March-April-May)

The season of spring, which spans March, April, and May, is considered one of the prime times for motorbike tours in the Nepal Himalayas. A significant number of tourists visit Nepal during this season, as the touring experience is favorable throughout all Himalayan regions. The meadows and forests are adorned with a stunning array of colors from wildflowers, with the rhododendron—Nepal's national flower—displaying an impressive variety from low bushes to tall trees. The climate at lower elevations is warmer, while at altitudes above 4,000 meters, visibility is superb and temperatures are pleasantly moderate.

    Winter (December-January- February)

During the winter months, particularly when snowfall occurs at elevated altitudes, the snowline significantly lowers, resulting in colder weather conditions. This period presents an excellent opportunity for cycling in the lower elevations, specifically below 3,000 meters in the foothills of Nepal, where one can enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas. Although nighttime and morning temperatures can be quite chilly, daytime temperatures tend to be mild and pleasant when the sun is shining.

    Summer (June-July- August)
The summer months are characterized by warmth and humidity, coinciding with the monsoon season that may persist until mid-September. This period is particularly advantageous for enthusiastic botanists and forest researchers, as the elevated valleys and meadows are adorned with vibrant flowers and abundant greenery. However, it is generally advised to avoid touring during the summer season, except in the arid rain shadow regions such as Upper Mustang, Dolpo, and Kailash.
